Osage Kwun Tong
In 2009, OAF presented “A Blow to the Everyday”, an exhibition of Japanese art curated by Yuko Hasegawa, Chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and Board Member of Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District Project.
The exhibition examined the kind of involvement individual artists can have with communities and society at large, and the kind of communication and imagination that they can stimulate in late-capitalist Japan. It was also a story of the survival, an attempt by the artists to recall the reality of a different life through involvement with situations and people in the city.
